Simon's Town is a small naval town and reads that way. St George's Street, Jubilee Square and the harbour front are comfortable to walk all day, and Boulders is a managed reserve with staff and a gate. The main practical risk is your car: leave nothing visible at the Boulders and Seaforth parking areas or at the trailheads. Baboons are the other one. They will take food from an open hand, car or window, so keep food out of sight and never feed them. After dark the town is very quiet rather than threatening: streets empty, few people about. Stay on the main road, and drive or take an e-hailing ride between the town and the beaches.
