Walking around, serious violence is rare; watch your phone and bag, because robbery is not. If you live here, the chance of a break-in at home is about the same as in the rest of Cape Town, and much lower than four years ago. The thing to watch is your car: that is the biggest share of crime here, and it is not going down.
