MyCiTi is Cape Town's rapid bus service: safe, reliable and affordable public transport. It launched in 2010 and links the airport, the city centre, Sea Point and nearby suburbs.
For visitors, MyCiTi is a safe and convenient way to get around Cape Town without renting a car. The buses are clean and air-conditioned, and in many areas they run in their own lanes, so they are faster than regular traffic.
How It Works
Get a Card
Purchase a myconnect card at any station or tourism office. R35.
Load Credit
Add money at stations, online, or via the app. Minimum R20.
Tap In
Enter through turnstiles by tapping your card.
Tap Out
Always tap out - fares are by distance.

Is MyCiTi Safe?
MyCiTi is considered one of the safest public transport options in Cape Town:
- Enclosed Stations: Access-controlled with turnstiles.
