On 28 September 2015 Trevor Noah, 31, from Soweto and Eden Park, sat down at the desk Jon Stewart had held for sixteen years and hosted The Daily Show. His first guest was Kevin Hart. He had joined the show as a correspondent less than a year earlier. He hosted for seven years, and his memoir Born a Crime, about growing up under apartheid as the son of a Xhosa mother and a Swiss father, became an international bestseller.
