Minutes after Chad le Clos beat Michael Phelps to win the 200 metres butterfly, the BBC's Clare Balding found his father Bert. "Unbelievable, unbelievable," he said, and kept saying. "Look at him, he's beautiful. I love you." He told her he had never been so happy in his life, and said afterwards that he had not known the interview was live. The clip went round the world, and for the rest of the week Bert le Clos was one of the stars of the London Games.
