Afternoon:
  • Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens: Picnic spots, lawns to run on and easy walking trails, with Table Mountain rising straight behind the fynbos beds.
  • Company's Garden & Iziko South African Museum: An optional city stop on the way back, with a playground in the gardens and kid-friendly exhibits at the museum.
Day 2: Penguins & Cape Point
Morning:
  • Boulders Beach: Drive the scenic Cape Peninsula to Simon's Town and meet the famous colony of endangered African penguins from the boardwalks at Boulders Beach.
Afternoon:
  • Cape Point: Continue into Table Mountain National Park and take the Flying Dutchman funicular up to the lighthouse for dramatic ocean vistas.
  • Chapman's Peak Drive: Return along the coastal drive, with the option of a beach stop for a swim if the weather plays along.
Day 3: Waterfront Family Day
Morning:
  • Two Oceans Aquarium: Spend the morning at the V&A Waterfront's aquarium, whose touch pools and predator tank are made for families.
Afternoon:
  • V&A Waterfront: Relax around the harbour: play parks, the craft market and an optional harbour cruise before departure.
