Method and sources
One axis per crime type: the number of crimes the South African Police Service recorded at the Hout Bay stations between 2025-07-01 and 2026-06-30, the latest four quarters SAPS has published and the same 12 months our district report shows, in the seven crime types the report uses. The counts are SAPS' own published station figures, not our estimates and not the news reports the district page also carries. A district whose official figures are not currently authoritative, or that has no complete 12 months of them, is left out of this series. All seven axes share one scale, so the shape says what the mix is. Drug offences are not included: the police record them when they act, so the count measures police operations rather than how much drug crime there is.
SAPS station counts for the 12 months 2025-07-01 to 2026-06-30, as published in our district reports.
